Computing world was completely taken for a surprise by Microsoft when they announced the release of their virtualization software called Hyper-V.
This is clearly ramping up its competition against the leader of virtualization VMWare. Hyper-V will be a part of Windows Server 2008 from Microsoft which will allow users to run independent, multiple images in a physical machine of this operating system. Virtualization is being adopted widely in the market of enterprise computing which will help reducing the hardware amount that is required for the applications. This feature of Hyper-V makes it easier to deploy, manage and cut costs in the data centers. Microsoft has made it downloadable now from their web site and the current beta version of the same software works with the enterprise version of the Windows Server 2008. Microsoft also announced of adding provisioning and management of virtual machines through the system center tool of Virtual Machine Manager.

The never ending debate regarding ‘who holds the loyal and biggest customer base’ in the OS world, will never be truly answered as Apple launches Leopard and Windows Vista being almost launched simultaneously, the war seem to take interesting turn.
The Macintosh users are fiercely loyal to their OS maker and one would get tongue lashing replies in case they say a word against it. This is due to the fast paced growth of Apple in various sectors of music worlds, computer, and telecommunications. The business span and the organization’s degree of expertise is always a matter of debate but the again one cannot deny the superior loyalty of Mac customers. Leopard also faced initial problems after it was launched and the media covered it well but the users saw the media coverage as a threat to Apple’s credibility and brand image and was very skeptical about the same. Never known to have such a response rate from MS users, undoubtedly this reaction points out the winner.

The next generation of TV’s have finally arrived, but only in Japan. Sony has been working televisions that use the OLED technology which stands for, “organic light-emitting diode.” With this technology Sony has been able to produce televisions which are thinner and have a more vivid picture than existing LCD, Plasma and DLP.
The Sony OLED is 1/10 of an inch deep, which makes today’s current flat-screens seem gigantic at 6 inches deep. This means it will be heaps lighter and you’ll be able to hang this TV on your wall with a nail or sticky tac.
The TV is currently in Japan and is selling for about $1,750 for an 11-inch screen.

Availability of economy based personal computers has broadened the technology use in schools since the year 1980 to include the usage of tools like spreadsheets and word processors. Technology has given an advantage today of distant learning concept which allows two way classes with video and audio. Teachers are available remotely and thus it is possible for a lot of people to get high class education through distant learning. This is possible only because of the improved technology that we have since the early 1980s. Distance learning program takes advantage of the invention where information is passed through fiber optics, satellites and cables. This enables students to access instructions and even for the ones that are available remote and in communities that are considered undeserved. New technologies are not only powerful; they are more accessible and much easier in using. Keyboards are modified, head pointers and joysticks which allow physically disabled students to make use of computers. Even the impaired with speech can talk by synthesized speech and all they need to do is just type the words to the computer. Translators like speech to text hel

Finally I can be my own registrar without dishing out 70,000$ to ICANN. New Canadian startup company myrebel.com gives you the option of becoming your own registrar without paying the huge fees (yet to hear back from myrebel.com about the actual cost). How do you ask is this done? Their solution is a leasing program that allows you to control a registrar dedicated entirely to you at a flat monthly rate with no other upfront costs. The new service features a user-friendly interface with a log file that details all domain operations. Users have the power to execute on any command – from registration to deletion to transfer – and My Rebel said this provides the highest level of security as no names can be adjusted without the user’s approval. Godaddy watch out! I might just take over as top registrar soon

If you have an XBOX 360 you’ve probably already spent many nights crying over the fact that it doesn’t come with built-in wireless access like the Wii and Playstation 3. On top of that, if you wanted to have wireless access for the 360 you’re going to have to lay down about $100. So many of you have probably ended up running that 25 foot Ethernet cable through your house meandering this way and that through the many obstacles and into your Xbox 360.
Cry no more my friends because for as less as $30 you can make your own wireless access for your Xbox 360. All you need is:
1.Three Feet or more of Cat 5e Cable (Ethernet Cable)
2.Wireless Router
3.DD-WRT firmware

A big relief for music listeners all across Canada today. The Canadian Supreme Court won’t hear a case involving extra fees for iPods and other MP3 players in that country, ending a dispute over a so-called iPod tax, but rekindling debate over the legality of file swapping. With this new proposed tax by the Copyright Board of Canada, said in late 2003 that iPods and other hard-drive players were being used to copy music as well, and imposed a fee of up to $25 on the devices. In my opinion this would have further increased our already expensive MP3 players/ipods and promote more cross boarder shopping and hence would only hurt Canadian retailers in the long run.
